Welcome Home · New-parent RN visits

A little guidance for a big new beginning.

Bringing your baby home comes with questions. PPN is developing two-hour, in-home teaching visits to help new mothers feel more prepared for everyday newborn care.

Our planned service will match families with California-licensed RNs experienced in postpartum and newborn care.

Made for new mothers

Time to ask. Space to practice.

Your questions shape the visit. Practice everyday baby-care skills with an experienced RN, revisit instructions you want to understand better, and take the time you need. A partner or support person may join you.

Our initial focus is education for families with medically stable mothers and newborns after discharge. Specialized feeding concerns, premature infants and complex medical needs require an individualized clinical review and may need another provider.

Before you plan a visit

Can I book now?

Not yet. We are preparing the service and confirming qualified nurse availability. You may contact PPN for launch updates. An inquiry does not reserve a visit.

Will this replace medical follow-up?

No. Teaching visits do not replace obstetric, pediatric or emergency care. Keep your scheduled follow-up appointments. For an emergency, call 911.

Is this overnight newborn care?

No. The initial proposal is a two-hour daytime teaching visit. Overnight newborn care is not part of this offering.

Does every visit include specialist lactation care?

No. Specialist lactation services would require a provider with the appropriate qualifications and separate confirmation.

What will it cost?

Pricing and the exact services included will be confirmed before this offering opens for bookings. No payment is requested now.

How does PPN help?

PPN is a nurses' registry that helps families seek an appropriate RN. Availability, suitability and required agreements must be confirmed before any future visit. PPN does not replace your treating clinicians.
